It's our heart motives that God is interested in, not our good works.
Good works are admirable, but what is the motive behind them.
Motive: being that inward drive, impulse, that causes one to act.
Is it to look good to people, so we can feed our ego, or is our heart motive to please our Lord and obey His word?
Its our heart that Jesus is interested in.
Are we allowing the Holy Spirit to make the changes that will make us more like Jesus, So that we will have a Jesus heart?
1Samuel 16:7
But the Lord said to Samuel, "Do not look at his appearance or his physical stature, because I have refused him, For the Lord does not see as man sees; for man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart."
Someone may appear to be serving the Lord, but in their heart they may be serving themselves, trying to promote themselves, when promotion only comes from the Lord.
They are feeding their own ego. Trying to prove something that just is not reality in their heart.
Edging God Out. That's what ego does.
They could very well be building their own kingdom, and not the kingdom of God.
Pride being behind their actions.
We have seen this through the years, and have noticed, that they don't last long, as their folly is revealed sooner or later.
Beloved, make certain that your heart is right before the Lord.
Is there unforgivness, or bitterness or anger, any unresolved issues, deal with it quickly, hold nothing in your heart about anyone or against anyone.
Its between you and Jesus, no one else, unless you need to go and apologize.
If that is the case, then do it quickly, do not allow another day to pass with that in your heart.
It will rob you of God's peace, and it does open the door for the devil to enter. Remember, Satan pushes, the Holy Spirit gently leads.
Ephesians 4:25-27
Therefore, putting away lying, "Let each one of you speak truth with his neighbor, "for we are members of one another.
"Be angry, and do not sin" do not let the sun go down on your wrath,
Nor give place to the devil.
It is your choice, either you release your anger, or whatever you are holding onto, or there will pain in your life when you choose to hang onto it, you choose to give a place to the devil.
Yield your will to God's will. He will give you peace.
1John 3: 20-21
For if our heart condemns us, God is greater than our heart, and knows all things.
Beloved, if our heart does not condemn us, we have confidence toward God.
Beloved, the enemy is always looking for a place to enter so that he can harass God's kids. Do not allow him an entrance.
Keep your heart clean. Listen to the Holy Spirit when He warns you to let go of something. Cast down evil thoughts.
Proverbs 27:19
As in water face reflects face, So a man's heart reveals the man.
Matthew 5:8
Blessed are the pure in heart, For they shall see God.
Do you want to see God in your life? Keep a pure heart and you will.
Proverbs 4:23
Keep your heart with all diligence, For out of it spring the issues of life.
