Habits, actions and reactions, desires and thoughts.
These things are mostly in the natural, to drive us to the spiritual.
James 4:17
Therefore to him who knows to do good and does not do it, to him it is sin.
Are you driven by a bad habit? Give it to Jesus, He is your healer.
Habits are: a tendency to repeat an action in the same way.
It becomes a mental condition acquired by practice.
We have heard that saying, old habits are hard to break.
If they are bad habits, then the power of God can break them.
Sometimes we think we have a habit, but in reality it is a stronghold we have given over to the enemy of our soul.
Our reactions: Is the response to the stimulus of influence of events.
Our reactions reveal where we are in our spiritual growth, are we reacting as Jesus would, or are we reacting by our old nature in the flesh? Think about this!
Are our desires, the desires to grow and be more like Jesus?
Are we reading God's word and allowing it to shine on areas that need correction? Allow God's word to read you.
Desires: to yearn for the possession of.
This can take the form of something we lust after. We want to have our way and do our thing, no matter what the consequences are.
God places His desires in our heart, to fulfill our life while on the earth.
Ephesians 2:1-6
And you He made alive, who were dead in trespasses and sins, in which you once walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit who now works in the sons of disobedience, among whom also we all once conducted ourselves in the lust of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and mind, and were by nature children of wrath, just as the others.
But God, who is rich in mercy because of His great love, with which He loved us, even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ, and raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus.
Thoughts: as we know we are to control our thoughts through the Holy Spirit, measuring them to the word of God.
2Corinthians 10: 3-5
For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh. For our weapons of our warfare are not carnal (weak and worldly) but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down (imaginations) arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bring every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ.
Our thoughts from our heart will eventually come pouring out of our mouth.
Are we taking control of what passes through our mind? Are our thoughts good, and uplifting?
Beloved, if we are to have the mind of Christ, and we do, then our thoughts should be pure, and merciful, and kind.
Our mind is where it all starts, renew your mind in the word of God and see how different you will think.
God's word is like an eraser, it changes our thinking to peace and trust in our Lord Jesus.
God Bless your day
