You can resist the devil, by submitting to the word of God.
We must remember when Jesus fought the devil in the wilderness, the place of His testing, Jesus spoke the word of God to the devil. His word carries great power.
Matthew 4:3-10
Now when the tempter came to Him, he said, "If You are the son of God, command that these stones become bread." (Jesus hadn't eaten for 40 days)
But He answered and said, it is written, "Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God."
( Read the whole to verse 10)
Three times the Lord used the word of God against the devil's temptations.
One was for His natural hunger, one, was to have Jesus to leap from a high wall, and the other was to try and get Jesus to worship him. It was Jesus' humanity that was being tested.
Jesus made it clear to the devil that He, Jesus is God, by the statement," It is written, you shall not tempt the Lord your God."
To the degree that you submit to God's word, is the degree you can resist the devil.
James 4:7
Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.
John 6:63
"It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing. The words I speak to you are Spirit and they are life.
When you feel like you are under attack, quote God's word just like Jesus did.
Quoting God's word will release angels to you.
Psalm 103:20
Bless the Lord, you His angels, Who excel in strength, who do His word. Heeding the voice of His word.
2John :2
Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers.
As our soul cannot prosper until it receives the word of God, we begin to heal from the inside out. Our soul, is the place that carries all the past memories of hurt and dis-ease.
Our mind remembers, our emotions are connected to that bad memory, and it will take our will to renew our mind in the word of God, so that we can prosper in every area of our life.
When God's word gets into our soul, deep down into our being and we make an effort to understand what it is saying to us, our soul is healed.
Our emotions become controlled by the Holy Spirit who moves upon that word of life.
God's word gives us light to live by, to see and understand the things of God, and why we have to go through what we do go through, because we are being transformed.
Sometimes it seems so unfair, especially when we are walking with God to the best of our ability and have the knowledge of Him. Yet we must suffer some things to be more like Jesus.
Beloved, things happen in this upside down world, we have to be filled with the knowledge of God in order to survive all that comes at us.
Sometimes it is our fault that we have brought trouble on ourselves, and when we do that we open an opportunity for the devil to deceive us and place fear, or lies in our mind.
If we have the word of God in our heart, we can draw on that for strength. We need to feed our spirit man daily in order to stay healthy and strong in the Lord.
If Jesus fought the devil with "It is written", so also we should be doing.
Resist, push back, all those things that take away from the peace of God.
1 Peter 5: 8-9
Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.
Resist him, steadfast in the faith, knowing that the same sufferings are experienced by your brotherhood in the world.
To be steadfast in the faith, we must know and read the word of God. Our faith comes by hearing the word of God, so that our faith will be strong, read God's word out loud if you can, or have someone read it to you.
God Bless your day
