Those storms in our life will make our faith roots stronger.
When certain types trees are hit with hard winds it will cause their roots to go down deeper. You see this with palm trees in the islands.
Then when the next storm comes and the winds are fierce and blowing harder than before, the tree will stand because its root system is stronger.
It is the same with us believers in Jesus, when we are hit with a storm in our life and come through, our roots of faith have gone down deeper.
We find that we can withstand more than before, and we have learned to speak to the storms in our life.
Jesus said, speak to your mountain, He didn't say pray about it, He wanted us to learn to take the authority that He has given to us as His children, as we now belong to His kingdom.
Isaiah 25:4
For you have been a strength to the poor, A strength to the needy in his distress, A refuge from the storm, A shade from the heat; For the blast of the terrible ones is a storm against a wall.
Psalm 107:29-30 (Jesus did this in the new testament)
He calms the storm, So that its waves are still. Then they are glad because they are quiet; so He guides then to their desired haven.
Mark 4:35-41
On the same day, when evening had come, He said to them, "let us cross over to the other side." Now when they had left the multitude, they took Him along in the boat, as He was. And other little boats were also with Him. And a great windstorm arose, and the waves beat into the boat, so that it was already filling. But He was in the stern, asleep on a pillow. And they awoke Him and said to Him, "Teacher, do you not care that we are perishing?"
And He arose and rebuked the wind, and the sea, "Peace be still!" And the wind ceased and there was a great calm. But He said to them "Why are you fearful? How is it you have no faith?"
It was easier for Jesus to calm the storm, than to calm the disciples.
Storms will come, some we will speak to like Jesus did and they will calm down, others we will learn to ride out in faith knowing that the calm is behind the storm.
Its all about faith, knowing God has His hand in our life and He will deliver us from the storm, or ride it out with us.
God bless your day
