A heart that is overwhelmed with sorrow, will experience joy from the Lord for tomorrow.
We can all look back at times we were full of sorrow, yet as time passed God replaced that sorrow with His joy for our tomorrows.
Jesus said that He carried our grief's and sorrows. The word there for grief (sicknesses) He carried them for us on His back, the stripes that He took, and He carried all our diseases and sin on that cross.
When sorrow hits us, we can look back at the faithfulness of God, and say, it is well with my soul.
Psalm 61: 1-2
Hear my cry, O God; Attend to my prayer. From the end of the earth I will cry to You, when my heart is overwhelmed, Lead me to the rock that is higher than I.
(That Rock is Jesus)
Psalm 16:7-8
I will bless the Lord who has given me counsel; My heart also instructs me in the night seasons. I have set the Lord always before me; because He is my right hand I shall not be moved.
The night seasons are those times of dark sorrow. Jesus is there with us. He is the light in those dark times.
Psalm 77:10-14 (His anguish is in verses 2-9)
And I said, "This is my anguish; But I will remember the years of the right hand of the Most High." I will remember the works of the Lord, surely I will remember Your wonders of old.
I will meditate on all Your work, and talk of Your deeds. Your way, O God, is in the sanctuary; Who is so great a God as our God? You are the God who does wonders; You have declared Your strength among peoples.
It is so important to talk about the goodness of God, as giving life to your words, will stop the enemy in His tracks.
No matter what our sorrow is caused from, Jesus is there with us, He will carry us through.
It is a good thing to look back and remember the blessings of the Lord, that will strengthen our faith.
Psalm 16:11
You will show me the path of life; In Your presence is fullness of joy, At Your right hand are pleasures forevermore.
When your heart is sorrowful, get into the presence of God, Praise Him through your tears, I have done this many times, and I can tell you from experience, that God's presence and His love will overwhelm you.
He will wipe your tears away and remind you of His love for you and will replace the sorrow with His joy.
Beloved, you will get through today, and your tomorrow is waiting with light, joy, and the peace of God. Don't wallow in self-pity, get up and praise God, remind yourself that God loves you. Encourage yourself in the Lord as David did.
John 15:13
"Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one's life for his friends.
(Jesus did this for us, as well as our military soldiers gave their all for us)
Remember to pray for our military families.
God bless your day
