Are you living a fig tree religion?

As you remember, Adam and Eve tried to cover themselves with fig leaves, to cover their nakedness.

They had disobeyed the Lord, and now they had a conscience alive and well, to know good and evil, which told them they were naked, and now fear had entered their heart, something God never intended them to experience.


Fig tree religion is: when you look and sound good on the outside, but you do not bear any fruit.  You cover your sin with religious activity, but never repent.

Matthew 21:19-22
Now in the morning, as He returned to the city.  He was hungry.  And seeing a fig tree by the road, He came to it and found nothing on it but leaves, and said to it, "Let no fruit grow on you ever again."  Immediately the fig tree withered away.
And when the disciples saw it, they marveled, saying, "How did the fig tree wither away so soon?" 
So Jesus answered and said to them, "Assuredly, I say to you, if you have faith and do not doubt, you will not only do what was done to the fig tree, but also if you say to this mountain, "Be removed and be cast into the sea, it will be done.  And whatever things you ask in prayer, believing, you will receive.


Have you ever wondered why Jesus curse the fig tree? 
There are several reasons, one was the natural, He was hungry and there were no figs on the tree full of leaves.

The Spiritual reason, was an example to the disciples, that when they speak to a thing,  it would dry up at the very roots. (Every disease)

Also that there would be no more using fig leaves to cover sin, as the Lord would pay with His life's blood for our sins, so there would be no reason for the fig tree religion. (Covering up ourselves)  we will now be clothed in Christ righteousness.

We cannot cover up our sin, it will become putrid and stink after a while. Confess and forsake your sin, allow Jesus to cleanse you.

Proverbs 28:13
He who covers his sin will not prosper, But whoever confesses and forsakes them will have mercy.

There are people that believe if they attend religious activities that they are doing well.
Religion does not save you, Religion is not having a relationship with the Lord.  Religion can make you feel good for a while, but soon the sin will rear its head.
Religion is man working his way to God, Christianity is God came down to man.

There is no reason for fig tree religion, when Jesus has already made a way for your freedom, and peace of mind and joy for your heart, through His forgiveness.

Beloved, check yourself, are you doing what you do for Jesus and His kingdom, or are you trying to look good for those around you?  Self!

Do you love God's people and want to sincerely help them when needed, and serve out of a heart of love for others?

It is not about us, it is about God's kingdom, His people and those He desires to reach.

Have a sincere relationship with Jesus, He is Master.

SCIENCE AND THE BIBLE.

Science proves that God's word has it right for sustaining our life. Science says, that we need   four basic elements to sustain life and survive. We need air, water, food, and light. We have it all in Jesus, if we have received Him as our Lord. Science is right. It has proven God's word is true. JESUS IS NOT A GLORIFIED BUTLER, HE IS THE SON OF GOD.

SOME BELIEVERS THINK THAT JESUS IS A GLORIFIED BUTLER.  Whatever they ask for they will have, whether it is right or wrong.
