To praise God is to acknowledge the glories of His excellent person.

Praise is different from thanksgiving. Thanksgiving describes what God has done, rather than who He is.

Psalm 18:3
I will call upon the Lord, who is worthy to be praised; so shall I be saved from my enemies. (An older song we use to sing at church)

As we learn to praise God in the midst of our trouble, the enemy will flee. He cannot stand Praises to our God!
He cannot stand the name of Jesus, it carries great power and He knows that when we call upon the Lord and praise Him, the devil must flee.

Psalm 50:23
Whoever offers praise glorifies Me;  And to him who orders his conduct aright, I will show the salvation of God".

As we praise the Lord the atmosphere will change. His presence is in our praises.
As God's word says, He inhabits our praises. He lives inside of them.
As we glorify His holy Name, and we acknowledge His love for us, our heart and mind on Him, things begin to look different to us.
Our heart is on heavenly things, not on the earth.

I don't know about you, but I have praised God with tears flowing down my face.
I learned early on, to praise God in and for all things in my life. There is a shift of mindset when we open our mouth in Praise, With our focus only on the Lord.

Psalm 147:1
Praise the Lord!  For it is good to sing praises to our God;  For it is pleasant, and praise is beautiful.

Psalm 34:1-3
I will bless the Lord at all times; His praise shall continually be in my mouth.
My soul shall make its boast in the Lord; The humble shall hear of it and be glad.  Oh magnify the Lord with me, and let us exalt His name together.

There is a time in our private worship that we praise the Lord. That is a special time.  But the verse says let us exalt His Name together, that means we are with other Christians worshipping  and praising the Lord.

Psalm 22:25
My praise shall be of You in the great assembly;

As you can see there is a time to praise God privately, and there is a time to get together with others and praise God.

Psalm 150:1- 6
Praise the Lord!  Praise Him in His sanctuary; Praise Him in His mighty firmament!
Praise Him for His mighty acts;  Praise Him according to His excellent greatness!
Praise Him with the sound of the trumpet;  Praise Him with lute and harp!  Praise Him with timbrel and dance;  Praise Him with stringed instruments and flutes!  Praise Him with loud cymbals; Praise Him with clashing cymbals!  Let everything that has breath praise the Lord.
Praise the Lord!

Beloved, spend time praising the Lord as soon as you open your eyes, even before your feet hit the floor.
Start your day with praise and watch how awesome your day will go.  Even if things don't turn out as you would like, praise God anyway, He has a way of turning things in your favor when our heart and mind is on Jesus.

Praise the Lord that Jesus came to save you. Praise the Lord that He is our advocate.
Praise Him for the peace He gives us in the midst of the storm.

God bless your day
Jesus loves you
