WHAT WERE THE NEW COMMANDMENTS THAT JESUS GAVE TO HIS DISCIPLES? PART 2

Jesus has broken down the commandments, so that the average person can understand them.   Since He fulfilled all of them and did not abolish them, He wanted to  clarify what they really mean. The Pharisee's had added so much of their own sayings and traditions to the law, that Jesus had to clarify what was truth and what was from God. Love and humility, seem to be the important commands. Works follow love and humility. Matthew 6:19-21 Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on the earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal. But lay up for yourselves treasure in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is there your heart will be also. Don't set your heart on riches of this world, for they have wings and will fly away. Matthew 7:12 Therefore, whatever you want men to do to you, do also to them, for this is the Law and the prophets. (The golden rule) Beloved,...

WHAT WERE THE NEW COMMANDMENTS THAT JESUS GAVE TO HIS DISCIPLES? Part 1

God is not only the God of grace, He is also the God who expects obedience , because we love Him. When we gave our life to Jesus and accepted all He provides for us, then we are to obey His word. Luke 6:46 "But why do you call Me Lord, Lord, and do not do the things which I say? Don't confuse the Ten Commandments with the ones Jesus gave His disciples. He expounds on those and added more. Jesus breaks down the Commandments and makes it clear to understand.  He teaches beyond the Ten Commandments of the law, which involves mans effort. Matthew 22:36-40 Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the law" "You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the first commandment.  The second is like it.  "You shall love your neighbor as yourself, "On these two commandments hang all the law and the Prophets." Matthew 6:33 But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things s...

PREPARING FOR WHAT IS AHEAD OF US, AND TRUSTING GOD IN IT ALL.

How do we prepare for what's ahead of us? By doing all that God's word has told us to do. We prepare for things that will effect us and our neighbors in the natural.  Natural first, then the spiritual. Pray for wisdom on what you are to do and purchase. Be prepared for emergencies of any kind. Weather, earthquakes, fires, war. Look at your brothers and sisters in other  countries, that were not prepared when disaster struck them. Pray for our persecuted brothers and sisters. Pray for all ministries that are doing God's will. Have food, water, medical supplies.  Have a resource for light.    Have some  candles, flash lights and oil lamps, new batteries. Usually the women do the preparing. Men are out working their jobs. Proverbs 31:10-31 (read it all) (verse 15-19) She rises while it is night.  And provides food for her household,  and a portion for her maidservants.  She girds herself with strength,  And strengthens her arms,...

KNOWING THE MYSTERIES OF GOD, AND KNOWING HIS WILL.

Can we know the mysteries of God?  Oh yes. When we make an effort to know and study God's word, and understand the love God has for us. Ephesians 1:7-10 In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace which He made to abound toward us in all wisdom and prudence, having made known to us the mystery of His will, according to His good pleasure which He purposed in Himself, that in the dispensation of the fullness of the times He might gather together in one all things in Christ, both in heaven and which are on the earth. People ask, "how can I know God's will"? Beloved , God's will is in His word.  God made it simple for us, by putting His will in His word.  And we have the Holy Spirit to direct us. If we have a close relationship with our Lord Jesus, we will know God's will. The word says that the Holy Spirit will bring to our remembrance all that Jesus has said. Can we know the will of God?  ...
