EXPECT THE UNEXPECTED TO REVEAL GOD'S GOODNESS.

What leads us to repentance? It is the goodness of God. Romans 2:4 (Speaking of judging others) Or do you despise the riches of His goodness, forbearance and longsuffering, no knowing that the goodness of God leads you to repentance? Sometimes the good things of God come our way when we are not expecting the blessing. We saw ourselves as needy in an area of our walk, but didn't expect God to answer in the way that He did. God over answered our prayers. A good example is Paul and Silas (Acta 16:1-40) Paul and Silas being in the prison, didn't know what would happen to them. As they sang to the Lord miracles occurred. Philippians 1:12-14 But I want you to know, brethren, that the things which happened to me have actually turned out for the furtherance of the gospel, so that it has become evident to the whole palace guard, and all the rest, that my chains are in Christ; and most of the brethren in the Lord, having become confident by my chains, are much more bold to speak the w...

WHEN YOU RECEIVED JESUS INTO YOUR LIFE, GOD'S PLAN FOR YOU HAS NOW BEGUN.

When we were born again by God's Spirit, our heart changed and our actions should follow. God gave us a new heart to love and follow Jesus with. Question- Has the way you live changed since you have received Jesus as your Savior? It should have! When we have Jesus in our heart, it should be  evident how we live. Apart from the world. 1Corithians 5:17-18 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation, old things have passed away, behold, all things have become new.  Now all things are of God, who has reconciled us to Himself through Jesus Christ, and has given us the ministry of reconciliation, that is, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not imputing their trespasses to them, and has committed to us the word of reconciliation. When we are in Jesus, it should change the way we live, unattached to this world.  We do not belong to this world, our world is new and waiting for us.  The glory of that new world, we cannot perceive ...

ARE YOU BEING CHEATED BY PHILOSOPHY?

Philosophy is the pursuit   of truth, an effort to make since of the world, and self. SELF is, s erving e motion  l oving f avor. Colossians 2:8 Beware lest anyone cheat you through philosophy and empty deceit, according to the tradition of men, according to the basic principles of the world, and NOT according to Christ. From a secular viewpoint, philosophy is an attempt to understand self, people and the world. The worlds phycology. Since old self is to die, when we come to Jesus as our Savior, why would we spend precious time checking out self. Dead feels nothing. That can become an idolatry. Now theology is an all encompassing study of God and His word. We can see that God has revealed things in His creation and in His word. Paul addresses this at Mars hill with the philosophers. Those seeking worldly wisdom.  Acts 17:22-25 (read the whole chapter) Then Paul stood in the midst of the Areopagus and said "Men of Athens, I perceive that in all things you are very relig...

LEAD US NOT INTO TEMPTATION.

In the Lord's prayer, He added lead us not into temptation.  Matthew 6:13 And do not lead us into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Being tested and tried when confronted with temptation, is a good thing.   It reveals where we are with our walk in the Lord. How else would we ever know the hidden desires of our heart?  Being tempted will reveal how strong or weak we are in the Lord. Yes, we are lead to be tempted and tested, when we see our true hearts desires, then we can allow the Holy Spirit to change them, so that we become more like Jesus. God never tempts us, but he does test us.  We are tempted when we are drawn away with our own desires, and we have taken our eyes off of Jesus. Self-centered. God the Holy Spirit is revealing those areas in our life that caused us to be miserable and steal our peace and joy. They seemed good at the time, but later on will turned on us. James 1:13-16 Let no one say when he is tempted, "I am tempted of God." for God can...

WHAT IS PRAYER? IT IS A HEART FELT COMMUNICATION WITH GOD. PART 2.

What is a fervent prayer, that James reminds us of.  A fervent prayer is a passionate sincere calling out to God.  It can be for repentance, or for thanksgiving, or any situation you find yourself facing. James 5:16 Confess your trespasses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much. Sometimes there are no words to express what we feel about what is happening.  Thank God the Holy Spirit will intercede for us. Romans 8 :26-28 Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses.  For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. Now He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is, because He makes intercession for the saints according to the will of God. And we know that ALL things work together for good to those who love God , to those who are the called according to His purpose...

WHAT IS PRAYER? IT IS HEART FELT COMMUNICAION WITH GOD. PART 1.

Prayer is fellowship with our creator.  We enter His presence with thanksgiving, we praise Him for all that He is in our life. P raise Him, R epent, A sk, Y ield, E xpecting, R efreshing. We thank Him for mercy, forgiveness, and His guidance. His presence carries life. Luke 18:1 Then He spoke a parable to them, that men ought to pray and not lose heart. (18-1-8 read it all.) There are different types of prayers, a few are verbal, speaking out loud,  Meditating prayers as He knows our thoughts,  and just calling out to Jesus. When we just talk to the Lord in our day, that is prayer.  Jesus loves us to come to Him and include Him in our day. He has already planned our day, but for us to acknowledge Him is a worship to Him. Jesus said, we think we are heard by many words. Keep it short. Matthew 6:6-8 "But when you pray, go into your room, (Shut the world out) and when you have shut the door, pray to your Father who is in the secret place; and your Father who sees ...

HOW IMPOTANT IS OBEDIENCE WHEN YOU ARE UNDER GOD'S GRACE AND MERCY.

If we really love Jesus, we will obey whatever He has said. Luke   6:46 "But why do you call Me Lord, Lord; and not do the things I say? Romans 1:5-6 Through Him we have received grace and apostleship for obedience to the faith among all nations for His name, among who you also are the called of Jesus Christ. Some believers, say because they are under God's grace, that obedience can be set aside, put off for now. WRONG! If you love Jesus, you will obey His word. It is God's grace that gives you the strength to obey His word. Beloved, we have all the fullness of God living in us through the Holy Spirit. Ephesians 3:19 (Part of a prayer Paul prayed for the believers) to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge; that you may be filled with the fullness of God. The fullness of God is in the love of God. Do you realize how much God loves you? Fullness refers to the totality of divine powers. It is all in Jesus, as He paid for it on the cross. After the resurrection of Ch...
