UNCOMFORTABLE AND BEING FRUITFUL, OR COMFORTABLE AND BEING COMPLACENT. PART 1

Are we to be comfortable in our walk with Jesus? NO! Zephaniah 1:12-13 And it shall come to pass of that time, that I will search Jerusalem with lamps, And punish the men who are settled in complacency. Who say in their heart, The Lord will not do good, nor will He do evil. Therefore their goods shall become booty, And their houses a desolation; they shall build houses, but not inhabit them, They shall plant vineyards, but not drink their wine. What a great warning to those who fall into complacency, being self satisfied. Being comfortable is providing physical ease and relaxation, that is free from stress or anxiety and fear. Being comfortable is not the same as being comforted.  God comforts us when we are stressed out, or grieving, He doesn't do that, so that we can sit back and be comfortable.  He comforts us so that we can move forward and do what He has called us to do.  He doesn't  do that, so  that we can be lazy and unfruitful. We as believers will suffer and walk thro

SUBMIT TO GOD, AND RESIST THE DEVIL.

When we set our mind and heart to submit to God, then, that is when we can resist the devil and he will flee from us. James 4:7 Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.  What does it mean to submit to God? It means submit your will, emotions and mind to God, your whole being. Resist and oppose the enemy, he will flee when he sees that you have left no opening for him. When we submit to God, then Jesus is on our side.   The precious blood of Jesus speaks loud to the enemies ears. Let me encourage you to read all of James chapter 4.  Hear the heart of God through James. If you have sinned, confess it quickly, as Jesus has already paid for it, and leave no entrance to the enemy. He goes for your mind. He is the father of lies, if he gains an entrance because of sin unconfessed, he will lie to you and try to convince you that God doesn't love you. The battlefield is in the mind, as Ern Baxter wrote in his book years ago.  He went home to Jesus in 1993, gre

DO YOU SHARE YOUR FAITH IN JESUS WITH THOSE AROUND YOU?

Has God given you a voice? Use it for good. Psalms 107:1-3 Oh give thanks to the Lord, for He is good! For His mercy endures forever. Let the redeemed of the Lord say so, whom He has redeemed from the hand of the enemy.  And gathered out of the lands,  From the east and from the west,  From the north and the south. If God has given you a voice, then it is time to share the good news, and the goodness of God, and tell of His salvation. I am not on social media, but for those of you who are, use that platform for good.  It is a platform that God can use to bless others.  Those who are searching for answers, searching for truth.  Jesus is truth!! I heard a God fearing Pastor speak about how believers in Jesus can use the media to share good news. Beloved, since God hears our every word and thought, Oh how we would bless Him by sharing the redemption story and explaining God's plan. Psalms 139:2-4 You know my sitting down and rising up; You understand my thought afar off. You comprehen

KEEP YOUR FOCUS ON JESUS, NOT ON ALL THE WORLD IS DOING AND SAYING.

Have you noticed that the more the world turns its back on God, that the Holy Spirit moves mightily saving souls? The darker the world becomes, the brighter God children are shining. Matthew 5:14-16 You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden.  Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, it gives light to all who are in the house. LET YOUR LIGHT SO SHINE BEFORE MEN, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven. Recently, people are coming to salvation my the millions in all nations.  The Holy Spirit is moving mightily. When the enemy comes in like a flood, the Lord raises a standard. Jesus is in the fight, like He was for Joshua Isaiah 59:19 So shall they fear the name of the Lord from the west, and His glory from the rising of the sun; When the enemy comes in like a flood, The Spirit of the Lord will lift up a standard against him. Beloved, look around you, our God reigns, He has His hand in the battl

ARE WE SAVED BY GRACE ALONE? WE MUST HAVE TRUTH ALSO. GRACE AND TRUTH ARE CONNECTED.

We must understand that grace and truth are connected, they cannot be separated. John 1:17 For the law was given through Moses, but grace and truth came through Jesus Christ. We must trust the truth of God's word to experience His grace. (Unmerited favor) It's all Jesus.  He is grace and truth. Beloved, did you know that Jesus never mentions grace in the gospels? He did however, say that He is the way, the truth and the life. But He sure did demonstrate grace and truth wherever He went. We must believe the truth that Jesus died for all our sins, and we must confess that with our mouth. Romans10:6-10 But the righteousness of faith speaks this way, "Do not say in your heart,  "Who will ascend into heaven?"( that is to bring Christ down from above) or "who will descend into the abyss" (that is to bring Christ up from the dead), But what it does say? " the word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart" that is the word of faith which we

IT IS A MATTER OF THE HEART, GOD CARES ABOUT OUR HEARTS CONDITION.

We should know the condition of our heart, when it matters to God. When preachers only quote Jeremiah 17:9-10, they leave it out of balance, as there is more from God about our heart. Jeremiah 17:9-10 The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked; who can know it? I, the Lord, search the heart, I test the mind, even to give every man according to the fruit of his doing. This is true, however there is another prophet later who added to what God said. Ezekiel 36:26 I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; I will take the heart  of stone out of your flesh and give you a heart of flesh. I will put My Spirit within you and cause you to walk in My statues, and you will keep My judgements and do them. (When the Savior comes) I have heard preachers say that this is for the Jews, yes, but don't forget that we are grafted into the Jewish vine, so that is for us believers also. Beloved, we need to rightly divide the word of God.  On a given subject,

WE ALL HAVE THEM, OUR UPS AND DOWNS IN OUR LIFE IN JESUS.

When reading God's word we see that there are times we will experience some mountain top experiences. Feeling elated and so close to God. However, what we don't realize is that we cannot stay there, we must come down into the valley. It is in the valley that we learn to walk by faith and trust the Lord. We will have afflictions at times. 1Thessalonians 3:3-4 that no one should be shaken by these afflictions ;  for you yourselves know that we are appointed to this.  For in fact, we told you before when we were with you that we would suffer tribulation, just as it happened, and you know. Our greatest growth in the Lord is because of the valley experience. Those down times. When we learn to trust God's word and obey it. On the mountain top we will experience the supernatural, we feel such a closeness with Jesus. It's wonderful, we want to stay right there.  Matthew 17:1-3 (read the whole chapter) Now after six days Jesus took Peter, James and John his brother, led then up
